What does it take to be the best-paid male model in the world? Looks help, of course. Being discovered by fashion designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t hurt, either. Staying relevant, diversified and in the spotlight is also a good idea.
Born in 1989 in Marseille, France, Baptiste Giabiconi signed with DNA Model Management in New York in 2008 — and that same year, Karl Lagerfeld enlisted him as the face of Chanel. He has also appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Numero Homme and other magazines around the world. Last year, he released a music single, "Showtime," and appeared in a photobook by Lagerfeld called Beauty of Violence.
This year, he made a splash with the fashion industry — and the media — when he posed nude for Karl Lagerfeld for Interview Magazine. It's proof of the value of celebrating the natural beauty of the human body — not to mention working the media.
