INTERVIEW: Lex Anthony, West Coast Fitness Model Shows Motivation and Ripped Abs

Anyone who's followed the male model and fitness scene in San Francisco has likely come across Lex Anthony, a ripped male fitness model, dancer, personal trainer and actor. Originally from Los Angeles, Lex took time to do this interview with modelJOCK. (Photos by a variety of photographers, used with permission of the model.)

When did you start working out and modeling?
I started Fitness  when I was 16. I've always dreamed of having muscles and building strength and I never stopped since. I began my work as a model and actor when I was about 18. My proudest moment is having a chance to work with some of the best photographers in the world.

What do you think is your best body part?
I think the best body part would have to be my chest. I was always skinny with no upper body, so now I feel great about myself.

What is your workout routine? And do you follow a specific diet?
I work out about five days a week, by training at the gym and at the beach. I like to run, swim and ride my bike. I try and maintain a strict diet to have that perfect body — just a low-carb, high-protein diet that consists of lots of lean meats and vegetables. Also, I don't intake a lot of things filled with sugar, like soda and candy.

How do you stay motivated? What are your ultimate goals?
I stay motivated by looking at fitness magazines and the Internet, at guys who take care of themselves and their bodies. My goal as a model is to try and get as much exposure as I can, so I can get more modeling work — and that it can lead to a career in acting.

Where can we follow your work?
At the moment I just have a few shoots lined up for the summer, so I'm currently trainer more to have that razor sharp physique. The best way to follow my work is on Model Mayhem and on Facebook — Lex Anthony.
